Current Projects

Humboldt Solidarity Coalition Networking Event meets every Fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 pm sharing what we have been and will be doing to resist fascism. Current location: The Labor Temple in Eureka.

Eureka Books is more than a project, it is Solomon’s livelihood and a culmination of all his diverse work experiences over several decades. Read more about Solomon’s vision for the bookshop here.

Dungeons & Dragons is a table top role playing game that Solomon plays with friends. He can lead a game for friends when they are interested.

Go is the world’s oldest board game continuously played to the present day. Solomon will make time to play with old and new friends.

The Solicitude Kit is an art piece shaped like a board game exploring group dynamics. Once played, the players’ roles change if they ever play again. Solomon can facilitate a session with groups of 6 to 8 other people.

Songs for Singing is a record of the songs that Solomon has written to be sung with guitar. Please play them. If you make any money from playing them, please give some to a local mutual aid organization. Find the songs here.

Lost Eureka is a multiyear multimedia project focused on stories from the Gilded Age in Eureka, California. Access the online content here.

Cabaret Performances at Synapsis Performance Venue in Eureka are central to Solomon’s continued exploration of live performance in understanding the nature of reality and relational systems. The Gashkig’s Sash is an Indigenous Futurism created by Solomon set in Mekinauk Wudjiw (Turtle Mountain in what is currently referred to as North Dakota). This incomplete project is on the top of the list for completion in the event of a major financial windfall. Read a sample here.

Fatherhood is the most important aspect of Solomon’s life, but details are not shared here about that.

Past Projects

Agenda Review Gathering was a potluck every Monday evening in 2025 at the Two Street Art Lab at 527 Second Street in Eureka where neighbors reviewed the agendas of a variety of municipal bodies and maybe some community groups.

Solidarity Study Groups was a gathering of neighbors in 2025 exploring social justice movements and politics together, using books and articles as a starting place for discussion. Review the ever-evolving program for the group here. Contact Solomon if you would like support making a study group of your own.

No on Measure F was a political campaign in which Solomon acted as point of contact and spokesperson. Measure F was resoundingly defeated.

Wusatoumuduk: We Make It Burn was a theatrical collaboration between the Wiyot Tribe and the North Coast Repertory Theater. Solomon used his 3/4 European heritage to play the white man in this all Native cast and assisted in the writing.

The Land Office is part of the Imaginal Services Bureaux which was initially hosted by Cooperation Humboldt. The items are time specific to 2020. For a zine based on the project, send $20 to 426 Second Street, Eureka, California 95501. View the work here.

The Future is Now was a video project spin off from The Land Office. You can watch the archive of these interviews here. There are more on that platform, but they are goofy and time specific to 2020.

Cooperation Humboldt was a community organizing effort working to build a solidarity economy on the north coast. Solomon helped lead organization education groups and the projects above.

Classics Now! was a ten minute radio program on KHSU showcasing the latest reading from the North Coast Great Books Discussion Group which ran for two decades. Solomon was host for over a year toward the end of that run. See what the group is reading in the calendar.

Sailing to Portmanteaux is a play I wrote after my father’s suicide. Read it in its entirety here.

Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater hosted Solomon as a Professional Actor Training Program student from 2002 to 2003.

Mathilde was a one man show performed in Eureka and as part of the Mad River Festival in Blue Lake. The show was an exploration several characters’ relationship to the eponymous trapeze artist.

Elvis Underground European Mission was a three week and nine country tour in the Summer of 2000 sharing the Eleven Commandments and continuing the work of the King in uniting all species in Universal Rhythm and Harmony.

The Toothbrush Dance was a one man show performed by Solomon in Arcata. The show was a processing of trauma and responsibility.

Seattle World Trade Organization (WTO) Protest in 1999 was a major mobilization effort that succeeded to shut down a meeting of neoliberal leaders attempting to continue their control of the global economy. Solomon played a minor role in the resistance.

Crowatan Art Works was a short lived (1998 to 1999) art and activism center in Arcata, California. Solomon made sure the rent got paid as he was on the lease.

Sustainable Local Economy Working Group (SLEWG) of the Humboldt County Greens worked on a variety of projects in the late 1990s including an early incarnation of a local community currency.

Humboldt County Jail Protest occurred in the mid 1990s as the building was being constructed, culminating in Solomon and another activists being kicked OUT of jail. You’ll need to ask him for the full story.

Food Not Bombs Arcata is a direct action mutual aid organization that fed hungry people on the Arcata plaza. In the early 1990s, Solomon was a named party of a lawsuit by the City of Arcata against the group. He was threatened with jail time and fines. The parties ultimately settled out of court and Food Not Bombs Arcata still serves food to the hungry decades later.

Peer Resource — The Motivation Sensation was a teen theater group that Solomon worked with as a student in the late 1980s.

Projects on Hold

That Special Book is a podcast project in development which will feature interviews with folks about the books that have had an impact upon their lives.
