2025.06.29 Weekly Update

It was a strange week. I got a lot done and still feel overwhelmed. I also had my dog without my kids around. Usually they are together but one of my kids was camping with his mom for the week. So, the dog and I had some limited time alone as I worked a lot.

A friend also came to town and stayed at my place. We got to visit a bit, but I was rather busy with work and planning for the secret project which is picking up steam.

The not so secret project is called Salt and Fog. It’s a convenience store at Opera Alley and E Street. We hope to open in August. Lots of work for that this week.

I’m just tired as we prepare for the huge 4th of July Sale at Eureka Books.

There are times where I am confronted with the sisyphean nature of my quickly approaching golden years. I don’t see retirement, just unending work and (despite my efforts at living healthy) more frequent long trips to larger cities for health care in my 60s and 70s. I suppose those will become my vacations.

The weather has been tending toward sun and the days have been long. Working at finding a moment here and there to enjoy. Riding the new bike trail was great. More of that, please!
