I want you on my team.
This is better than transactional
This is the interwoven relational
All my relations
Through all time
Back and forth
Ebbing and flowing
Gasping and sighing
Forward and back
Through the ancestors I never knew
And to the ancestors I never will
I am bringing together
A series of stories at once
An anthology of places
In one place
At one time
A book of books
A place of places
Depending on who’s standing there
And what they have in their hands
And what they chose to need to do
I love a team called community
I love a place that you will be
This place where stories live
And so many more things
Can hold a story than a book
So run on with unkempt sentences
Punctuate recklessly
Take pause in the ellipsis…
Hold my hand like a cursive fin
That’s only learned to swim
When you craft a message
On a scrap of your new dream
Mail it to me only as
An intermediary
I’ll pass it on as if a game
For what else could it be?
Whisper your answer to me
And tell me once again
I will keep it precious to me
I will take you on my team

I really do want you on my team. When this picture was taken, I had just committed to the work that will likely fill the rest of my life. As this experience passes a threshold into the next serious phase, I really need a team that steps in when they can and cheers me on when they can’t step in. There will be communiques, musings, questions, and all of it will be in private, not on this platform. I dream a virtual space of community to support a physical space for community. I call in positivity and support and power and community and love. So be it. See to it.
